17th February, 2019: GB Valentine’s Weekend Picnic to Korlai Beach

Close your eyes. Imagine spending an entire day on the golden sands of a stunning, isolated beach on an emerald-green island. Now open your eyes – your dream has come true! Hurry and register for the GayBombay Picnic to Korlai.

Located off the Revdanda coast near Alibaug, Korlai (or ‘Morro the Chaul’ meaning a small, rounded hill) retains its distinct Portuguese spirit. Past the by lanes and fishing boats of a quiet village you will come to a quaint lighthouse and an abandoned fort. And then to Korlai’s best-kept secret: a kilometre of pristine sand, invisible from the mainland, on the sea-facing side of Morro the Chaul. There’s more. Guess where we are going to host you? A private beach villa with Portuguese interiors and a large garden that opens onto the secluded stretch of white sand.

So leave the cacophony behind. Lounge on the verandah, enjoy home-cooked Konkani food, visit the fort and clamber up the lighthouse for a panoramic 360 degree view of the landscape or take a bullock cart ride on the beach. Just relax, refresh and susegaad!
